An Annual Tradition

Every year it is traditional to put up Christmas lights the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year is no different. My husband started decorating with the lights around the house and will probably get the rest of the decorations out tomorrow. Here’s a picture taken with my cell phone. I’m Jewish, so I wanted blue and white for Israel and Hanukah. We’ve had blue and white lights up for the past four years, but my husband wanted red, white and blue to be patriotic this year. However, the combination of the blue and red make purple, so it’s a little confusing. It looks pretty, though. And, we’ve already gotten a lot of compliments on our lights from our neighbors and friends on Facebook.

I’ve always loved Christmas lights and enjoy driving through other neighborhoods to see their decorations at night. My sister lives in a neighborhood that goes all out for the holiday season! They close off streets and direct traffic in certain areas so there are only pedestrians walking through the neighborhood. It’s a little crazy, but really fun. I’m looking forward to seeing them next month. My sister also puts up blue and white lights for Hanukah and so her house isn’t dark compared to the rest of the street. It’s a sight to see.

The holiday season is upon us! Enjoy it!

Nature is Painting

“Nature is painting for us, day after day,
pictures of infinite beauty
if only we have the eyes to see them.”

Many Blessings this Thanksgiving

I have so much to be thankful for! My 99 year old grandmother is healthy, happy and able to join us to celebrate Thanksgiving this year. My father had three stints put in his heart on October 30th, went to work the following Monday and looks like nothing ever happened! My sister had an angiogram done the Monday after Dad and looks great! My mother is a cancer survivor 18 years and looks like a knockout! My other sister is starting her new business and her 3 year old daughter is growing up beautifully. Two of my cousins got engaged this year and are getting married in 2016, and my niece will be the flower girl. And, my mother in law was able to join us this year. I lucked out with a wonderful mother in law. She’s so easy to be with. She raised a loving son who is a great husband. Life is good.

The Calm Before the Storm

My husband and I went to the mall to look around before Black Friday. I almost never go to the mall. I much prefer shopping online and getting boxes (presents) delivered to my door! But, sometimes we need to actually go somewhere, in our case, to get our rings cleaned and see what was there. […]

Excited for Change

Today I spoke with a creative consultant about my photography and my vision of what I want for my business. She was very encouraging and supportive. She sent me links to photography website design companies that can revamp my website to make it more modern to feature my photographs in a way they are […]

Excuses, Excuses…

I sat down at the computer to write my blog about 2 hours ago and am now just getting started to write. I’ve been putting off checking my email for the past several days because it has been so late in the evening when I’ve started to write my blog this week. So, naturally, I […]

Never Again - We Mean It!

I just saw a post on Facebook about what Donald Trump will do if he is elected president and it is very disturbing. He wants to create a registry for Muslims like the Nazi’s did to the Jews in WWII. This will not end well. We know from experience!

This is the article: Dear […]

Power Down

Today I went to a Bar Mitzvah at a conservative temple. I had been to this temple before and their rule is to turn off your cell phones and all technology to honor Shabbat. As a photographer, this is really hard for me! I’m usually the one to disobey rules and do what I’m not […]
